Abstract: The book examines the most relevant legal issues related to the evolution of digital technologies and, notably, the development of intelligent systems, their impact on human rights and the allocation of responsibilities.
The authors explore the available solutions that are able to promote and ensure the sustainability of innovation, through preventive actions and protection by design. Indeed, the digital technologies are able to improve risk assessment, promote transparency and efficiency of the digital services while respecting environment, social and human rights. Specific attention is given to the insurance, banking and tourism sectors.
