Aims and scope: “Quaderni del Fondo Manoscritti e Rari” presents studies grounded in biographical and documentary sources—manuscripts, printed works, and rare books—preserved in the libraries of the University of Naples L’Orientale or associated with its collections. The contributions examinemultiple dimensions of these materials, illuminating the history of the collections, the provenance and circulation of manuscripts and books, the work of the scholars who have ensured their preservation, and the textual, paratextual, codicological, and material characteristics of the volumes.Particular attention is devoted to the visual and material aspects of manuscripts and printed editions, as well as to the intricate relationships between text and transmission. The series focuses primarily, though not exclusively, on materials originating from or related to Asia and Africa.
