Abstract: Starting from one of the most significant chapters of Leonardo's Libro di Pittura, we hwant to focus on the media - namely on the narrative, descriptive and graphics methodologies together with the techniques adopting during the modern and contemporary age as 'diffusers' of the landscape image - and on the deriving potential models for the enhancement of the historical landscape heritage.

Author Biographies

Annunziata Berrino, DSU - Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II

Annunziata Berrino is professor in Contemporary History at the University  Federico II - Department of Humanities in Naples. She also teaches within  the Undergraduate Degree in Science of Tourism, Management Specialization at  the same University.  Her primary, though not exclusive, field of research is the history of  tourism in the euro-Mediterranean area. She founded (in 2002) and directs «Storia del turismo. Annale», Franco Angeli editions  and sits on the  Advisory Board of the Journal of Tourism History (Taylor and Francis  publisher). She is president of Comitato di Napoli of Istituto per la storia  del Risorgimento italiano. Among her books: Storia del turismo in Italia (Il  Mulino, 2011); I trulli di Alberobello. Un secolo di tutela e di turismo (Il  Mulino, 2012); Andare per terme (Il Mulino, 2014).

Alfredo Buccaro, University of Naples Federico II
Alfredo Buccaro is professor of History of Architecture at the Department of Architecture of the University of Naples Federico II, director of the Interdepartmental Research Centre on the Iconography of the European City (CIRICE) and of University magazine Eikonocity. Among his books: Opere pubbliche e tipologie urbane nel Mezzogiorno preunitario (Electa, 1992), Antonio Rinaldi architetto vanvitelliano a San Pietroburgo (with G. Kjučarianc e P.
