Hegel's Phenomenology of the Spirit: Problems and Interpretations

Alessandro Arienzo is associate professor in History of Political Thought and Political Philosophy at the University ‘Federico II’ of Naples. He has published on modern and contemporary Machiavellianism, with a specific interest in Tudor and Stuart England, on democratic governance and contemporary reason of state theories. He is currently translating into Italian the pamphlets of the English parliamentarian Henry Parker and is writing a volume on seventeenth century English reason of state.

Francesco Pisano graduated in Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Naples “Federico II” with a dissertation on the crisis of the idea of a-priori knowledge in twentieth-century philosophical theories of experience. He also studied at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität of Freiburg im Breisgau at the local Husserl-Archiv. He has published on the relationship between phenomenology and materialism, and on the Italian reception of phenomenology. He also wrote about transcendental logic and phenomenological theory of knowledge.

Simone Testa graduated in Philosophy at the University of Naples “Federico II” with a dissertation on “Il giovane Leibniz. Tra logica e metafisica” (“The young Leibniz between logic and metaphysics”).  He was an Erasmus student at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University and he wrote about literary theory, with a particular interest in Proust’s Recherche. He is currently investigating the relationship between metaphysics and the science of life in Leibniz’s thought.
