Abstract: This volume collects contributions on Hispanic studies in occasion of the 90th birthday of Prof. Giovanni Battista De Cesare, offered by scholars currently working at the University of Naples L'Orientale. The studies included in the volume are representative of the wide-ranging interests cultivated by De Cesare in his long and prolific critical career, spanning from the Middle Ages to contemporary fiction and poetry, passing through periods such as the Siglo de Oro and the 19th century, without neglecting the Spanish-American side to which he has always devoted considerable attention.

Author Biography

Augusto Guarino, University of Naples L'Orientale

Augusto Guarino, University of Naples L'Orientale  PhD in Iberian Studies (University of Bologna, 1990), has been Full Professor of Spanish Literature at the University of Naples L'Orientale since 2000, where he was previously a researcher and then Associate Professor of Spanish Language and Literature.

He has published researches on Spanish fiction and theatre of the 16th and 17th centuries, contemporary Spanish and Latin American fiction, and the theory and history of translation in the Iberian context.
