Abstract: Digital edition of the Chronicle of the so-called Niccolò Iamsilla, curated by Prof. Teofilo De Angelis.

The project has been developed using the Aracne framework, created by Dr Alfredo Cosco, which enables the creation of files and XML markup based on predefined templates; meanwhile, the implementation of Linked Open Data (LOD), primarily pointing to Wikidata, has benefited from the technical contribution of Dr Alessandro De Troia. For the initial phase of LOD markup, the artificial intelligence system provided by OpenAI was employed, duly trained by Prof.  Fulvio Delle Donne.

This technological prototype makes it possible not only to produce XML editions in a simplified way, but also to automatically generate the websites that host them. The powerful search system developed by eXist-db – The Open Source Native XML Database enables flexible queries, while the implementation of LOD ensures the unambiguous identification of personal and place names.

Digital edition in XML.
