Abstract: The four volumes include 74 articles by friends, pupils and colleagues of Gabriella Braga. Some of them had shared teaching and research with her at the University of Cassino, common research subjects united others to her. The result is a wide range of subjects: medieval Latin literature (Gabriella’s main research subject), the Classics, Greek, Roman and medieval history, medieval and modern Italian literature, Romance philology, Roman law history, classical archaeology, medieval art history, music history. Arecurring subject is the abbey of Montecassino in various periods of its history, due to its impressive book and document production, witnessed by the final indexes and plates.

Author Biographies

Marco Palma, University of Cassino and Southern Lazio

I graduated in Classics in 1969 at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Later I taught Codicology at the School for Archivists and Librarians of the same University and Latin Palaeography at the University of Cassino. My main research topics are the scripts and materials of medieval manuscriptsand charters. More recently I devoted myself to the study and description of incunabula.

Cinzia Vismara, University of Cassino and Southern Lazio

Cinzia Vismara was professor of Archaeology of Roman Provinces in Sassari (1983/1984 – 1998/1999) and Cassino (1999/2000 – 2013/2014) Universities. She was director and co-director of excavations and surveys in Sardinia, Corsica and African provinces. Since 2013 she is rédactrice en chef of Antiquités africaines and of the series Études d’Antiquités africaines (CNRS Éditions). She published papers and books about: sardinian terracottas, inscriptions of Provence amphitheatres, of Corsica and of theroman city of Vintium; excavations in Corsica and in Tunisia; survey in moroccan Rif; jewish catacombs in Rome; amphitheatre performances; iconography of punishment; funerary archaeology.
