Abstract: This volume contains studies and research carried out in Italy and in other countries gravitating around the Mediterranean basin on the theme of the identity signs of the city and the landscape, with the aim of promoting scientific updates, exchanges of knowledge and social experiences with reference to archaeological sites, historic urban centres and rural villages, proposing a reading of the architectural, artistic and natural stratifications that still characterise their historic-environmental values, as well as their coastal and territorial beauty. The succession of readings is divided into five sections, each with specific in-depth studies on issues concerning archaeology, the landscape, the history of the city and the forma urbis declined in its various meanings, with reference to cities and territories of ancient origin.
