Abstract: The ideation approach is a cornerstone of the design process because it leads to the complete value-chain re-construction. The method is therefore a tool itself within the complex ideational-implementation system. Research in the scientific field and the micro and macro analysis of living structures guided the entire design process: the research produced meaningful references for the creation of new design tools. From the color palettes to the choice of materials with their experimental manipulation, to the conception of the collection, with the subsequent pattern-making experimentation, it was configured a unique and extremely differentiated aesthetic-emotional landscape. The logic of the intersection of knowledge with the hybridization of techniques for manipulating the existent confirms how knowledge fits perfectly into handmade knowledge, which adapts to the contents on a case-by-case focused on 'capability-based approach' processes.

Maria Antonietta Sbordone is Associate professor, carries out research in the fields of design for the territory, design for fashion and innovation in textiles from renewable resources. She is co-chair for curriculum 2 "Sustainable innovation of product systems, services and processes for Made in Italy" of the Doctorate of National Interest Design for Made in Italy: Identity, Innovation, Sustainability.
