Abstract: Boundaries and contaminations: both words are composed of the noun and verbal prefix cón [lat. (or from Lat.) con- =], which indicates union, participation, connection. If in the first case "contaminations" the relationships between different parts are strong, mixed, giving rise to hybrid forms, in the second case "borders" the relationships are often subtle, punctual, clearly legible. In Mediterranean culture and production, contaminations and boundaries are numerous and characterizing, as can be seen in the collections presented in the dedicated issue. Projects of the Fashion Design Laboratory 2, in collaboration with the Institute Francesco Degni of Torre del Greco, the Mattei Institute of Caserta, the Museum of Ancient Capua Mitrea and the Campanian Amphitheater.
