Abstract: The bouton button “bud, button" is the theme of the workshop that saw the university students of the Fashion Laboratories 2 and the students of the "Francesco Degni" Institute of Torre del Greco, design and create together, precious buttons in coral, mother-of-pearl, semi-precious stones with complex goldsmith supports. In particular, the jewels belonging to the "Abito Mediterraneo" collection are the result of an elaborate formal, functional and aesthetic process born from the study of the characteristics of this territory. The other theme linked to the "Vintage Generation" collection includes buttons/jewels that experiment with different materials by combining coral paste, plastics, and traditional mother-of-pearl. Projects of the Fashion Design Laboratories 2, in collaboration with the Institute “Francesco Degni” of the Torre del Greco.

Maria Dolores Morelli, University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli

Maria Dolores Morelli is Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree Course in Design and Communication, Associate Professor of "Industrial Design. Scientific research: ecodesign, jewellery design, typo-morphological and compositional studies, form-design relationship through the theme of the right distribution (oixonomy) necessary for the creation and control of artefacts.

Roberto Liberti, University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli

Roberto Liberti is Associate Professor in the disciplinary sector ICAR 13, Industrial Design and with teaching in the Fashion Design sector at the DADI Department of Architecture and Drawing Industrial. He is President of the Three-year Degree Course in Fashion Design of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design at Vanvitelli and also coordinates the FA.RE laboratory. Fashion Research Lab with national and international research in the fashion sector.
