Abstract: This publication is offered to François Esvan by slavist colleagues and friends, crowning his career as a Professor of Czech Language and Literature at the University “L’Orientale” of Naples.The volume includes a collection of studies written by respected Czech, Italian, Polish and Russian scholars of Slavic linguistics, from an Italian-Russian and Italian-Polish contrastive perspective, as well as contributions of Czech linguistics in synchrony and diachrony. Contributions are offered in Czech and Italian.The volume is completed by the bibliography of the publications of François Esvan and a Tabula gratulatoria, which was joined by slavist colleagues and friends from various countries.The publication was entirely financed by the Department of Literary, Linguistic and Comparative Studies of the University “L’Orientale” of Naples.

Author Biographies

Petra Macurová, University of Naples L'Orientale

Petra Macurová teaches Czech language at the University “L’Orientale” of Naples. She holds a PhD from the Masaryk University of Brno. Her main research interests are in Czech-Italian contrastive textual linguistics, Czech syntax and she is interested in audio-visual translation. She is author of numerous studies and co-author of a Czech language textbook.

Marina di Filippo, university of Naples L'Orientale

Marina di Filippo teaches Russian language and linguistics at the University “L’Orientale” of Naples. Her research fields mainly concern Russian-Italian contrastive semantics and pragmatics and the acquisition of Russian L2. She is interested in the history of political-cultural relations between Russia and the Kingdom of Naples and in the theory of Russian versification. She collaborates regularly with European universities and cultural centers. She is author of numerous studies and monographs.
