Abstract: With the launch of the Next Generation EU, which will be the driving force for the growth of our country system and of the European Union, rethought in terms of sustainability and resilience after the imbalances following the recent pandemics, Italian universities are applying to address the development as the “methodological garrison” for the management of complexity. The University of Cassino and Southern Latium does not shy away from this challenge and wants to offer a holistic and multidisciplinary vision that is able to embrace the objectives of the Next Generation EU related to the country's digital transition, ecological transition, infrastructure development for sustainable mobility, education and research, cohesion and inclusion, and the improvement of the National Health System. Within this context, the Third Mission together with the traditional research and teaching activities take on a renewed value which can provide a strategic tool for the correct use of the Next Generation EU resources and may represent the main key of understanding of the papers presented within this third volume sponsored by the University Sustainable Development Committee.
