Abstract: This volume contains the Acts of the two conferences held in Naples on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the promulgation of Racial Laws in Italy (1938). The first conference took place on November 17, 2008 at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, and it was organized by the Center for Jewish Studies; the second (November 25, 2008) was held in the Naples State Archive, where a documentary and bibliographic exhibition (“... Frankly Racist”: The Racial Laws in Naples), was held in the same circumstances. A complete list of exposed documents is also published here. Essays by Bruno Di Porto, Valerio Di Porto, Anna Foa, Suzana Glavaš, Gabriella Gribaudi, Giancarlo Lacerenza, Francesco Soverina, Paolo Varvaro. Testimonies by Ugo Foà, Bice Foà Chiaromonte, Lia Levi, Miriam Rebhun, Guido Sacerdoti, Sandro Temin.

Giancarlo Lacerenza, University of Naples "L'Orientale"

Giancarlo Lacerenza teaches Biblical and Medieval Hebrew at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, where in 2007 he founded the Center for Jewish Studies and directs the Sefer yuḥasin – Review for the History of the Jews in South Italy.
