Abstract: The idea of a convention on the institution, as well as on the historical, educational and scientific contribution of the Law Faculty of the Federico II University arises from the need to adequately focus on the importance assumed by this institution, even outside the boundaries of Southern Italy, in the development of both legal knowledge and practices. From the greetings of the Rector and of the national forensic councils and of the Notariat, going through a surprising reflection by the director of the department, the volume contains in the first part the Acts of the meeting held on 12 November 2015 in the Aula Pessina. To follow, revisited and integrated, the presentation of the materials of the conference, where - with a detailed report on the Deans that followed the Faculty guide - the testimonies of the building and urban renewal of Naples starting from the second nineteenth century are flanked by the most relevant events of the time and the most significant local achievements.
