Themes and contents of the book series:

The Series collects research contributions in the history of physics and astronomy, as well as those relating to university and secondary school teaching, presented to the Italian Society for the History of Physics and Astronomy (SISFA). Its main aim is that of promoting research activities in the history of physics and astronomy in Italy, carried out not only by academic historians but also by independent scholars and secondary school teachers, eager to delve deeper into the role of the history of physics and astronomy in the teaching of their disciplines. The published contributions mainly concern the history of physics and astronomy, also in connection with the related areas of the philosophy of physics, the history of mathematics, chemistry, science and culture. Equally relevant are the studies focused on historical scientific instruments and documentary sources concerning the areas mentioned, as well as the applications of the history of physics and astronomy in science teaching and museum displays.
