Author Biography

Carlo Maria Mantegazza, University of Naples Federico II

Carlo Mantegazza was formerly a researcher at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa and is currently Full Professor of Mathematical Analysis at the Department of Mathematics and Applications "Renato Caccioppoli" of the University of Naples Federico II. His research focuses mainly on the calculus of variations and geometric analysis. He also contributes to initiatives in mathematics education and outreach. He is the author of five books and approximately sixty scientific publications. He won the Italian Mathematical Olympiad in 1989 and was awarded the "Giuseppe Bartolozzi Prize" by the Italian Mathematical Union and the Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer Prize by the Centre de Recerca Matemàtica in Barcelona.
