Aims and scope: The series L’italiano nel Mediterraneo e nelle ex colonie africane explores the still under-investigated history of the presence of Italian in Africa, reconstructing linguistic, cultural, and historical networks in colonial and postcolonial contexts. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the collected essays shed light on language contact, archives, educational practices, and literary narratives, restoring complexity to the colonial legacy and its contemporary resonances. What emerges is a vibrant mosaic in which Italian is transformed from a language of power into a space of mediation, memory, and plural identity.
