Characteristics and contents of the series: The series publishes the results of research promoted by the Interuniversity Centre for the History of Campania Cities in the Middle Ages - CISCaM (https://www.ciscam.it), which includes four Campania universities: University of Campania Vanvitelli; University of Salerno; University of Naples Federico II; University of Naples L'Orientale. The CISCaM, founded by Giovanni Vitolo in 1999, was renewed with a new inter-university agreement in December 2022.

The Centre deals with the history of cities in Campania from Late Antiquity to the early modern age, with reference to political-institutional, cultural, ecclesiastical, religious, artistic, archaeological, urban and architectural aspects. In the first series of Quaderni, nine volumes were published in print between 2005 and 2016 (publishers Laveglia and Laveglia&Carlone).
