Abstract: This volume brings together contributions from scholars of Romance and Russian languages and cultures who study rap music from a textual and literary perspective and from different angles, including linguistic-stylistic, social, cultural, generational, and identity-related aspects. Rap lyrics represent an inexhaustible source of ideas and suggestions, raising interesting questions in the fields of linguistic variation (youth language, dialects), prosody, and literary traditions, as illustrated in this volume.
