Abstract: Promessi Sposi in terza rima is one of the so-called born digital editions, i.e. editions which are conceived and designed for digital media. The purpose of this choice is to make Del Nobolo’s work immediately comparable to his renowned prose model. In this work, indeed, the poem has been transcribed and commented, along with a comparison with the Manzoni text pubished in 1827, which serves as reference for this rewrite in third rhyme. In the comments, differences between the text by Manzoni and the one by Del Nobolo are accounted for; in the notes, instead, portions of the Manzoni text are made available, in order to highlight the way in which Manzoni was read by Del Nobolo.

Margherita De Blasi, University of Naples L'Orientale

Margherita de Blasi is a post-doc researcher at the University of Naples "l'Orientale", where she completed her doctorate study, too. She edited the critical edition of the autograph manuscript "Osservazioni sulla tortura" by Pietro Verri. Her research interests are focused on Italian literature and authorial philology.
