Giuseppe D'Angelo is a professor of Spanish-American language and literature at the University of Salerno. His research has focused mainly on Italian emigration (he has published two monographs and numerous essays on this topic), on issues relating to the political aspects of the construction of contemporary Venezuela, both economic ones, and on the in-depth study of relevant figures in the cultural and scientific landscape of that country. In this context he paid particular attention to the figure of Salvador De La Plaza. Another line of research concerns dictatorships and popular movements in the countries of the "Cono Sur", with particular reference to Chile. Over time, his historical, political, and economic interests have been joined by literary ones, to which he has dedicated studies on Rodó and Sepúlveda.

Former full Professor of Spanish American Language and Literatures at the University of Salerno. She directs the narrative collection “Mirando al Sur” (Officine Pindariche) and the “Biblioteca di Studi e Testi” (Share Books-Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici Università di Salerno).

She has published six monographs: Racconto spagnolo, Salerno 1985, Exiliado de sí mismo, José Bergamín en Uruguay 1947-1954, Montevideo 1995, Lleida 1999, Emigrante/Inmigrado. Una doble identidad en el espejo de la literatura uruguaya, Salerno-Milano 2003, Escribir la Historia, Alicante 2009, Cinquecento anni di Civiltà e Barbarie, Salerno 2021, Vivere per testimoniare, testimoniare per vivere, Salerno 2022; her essays have been published in Italy, Grecia, Francia, España, Escandinavia, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, United States, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Her main research topics are: XIXth and XXth century Spanish-speaking authors’; Historical Novel; Travel Emigration and Exile Literature; Women’s Autobiography; Modernity/Postmodernity discourse; testimonial literature.

Giulia Nuzzo is Associate Professor of Spanish American Languages and Literatures at the University of Salerno. Her research interests have been directed especially towards the fields of travel and exile literature and narratives of violence in Colombia, focusing on authors such as Ricardo Rojas, Gabriela Mistral, Jorge Eielson, Rodolfo Walsh, Daniel Ferreira, Pablo Montoya, among others. His publications include the monographs Caminos identitarios entre Argentina y España. Los viajes a Europa de Ricardo Rojas (2015) and Intelectuales en el país de Trujillo. En torno a la vida y a la obra de Baltasar Miró (2016).

Valentina Ripa is an associate professor of Spanish Language, Linguistics and Translation at the Department of Legal Studies, University of Salerno.

A specialist in Spanish and Catalan studies, she is a member of national and international academic networks and of networks organising ‘third mission’ activities, such as the group behind EireneFest – the Book Festival for Peace and Non-Violence. Together with Prof. Gianfranco Macrì, she is the University of Salerno’s representative within the Network of Italian Universities for Peace. She is a member of the scientific, executive or editorial committees of academic series and journals: “Quaderni del CIRSIL”, “Revista Valenciana de Filologia”, “Scripta. Revista Internacional de Literatura i Cultura Medieval i Moderna”, “Ombre del diritto”, “Iura & Legal Systems”.
