Abstract: In December 2023, a red bench was installed in the courtyard of Palazzo Santa Maria Porta Coeli, home to the Department of Literary, Linguistic and Comparative Studies at the University of Naples L’Orientale, as a tangible sign of the Department’s promotion of active citizenship within its Research Project in Critical Interactions and Transitions (2022–2024). It also inspired the launch of the first Call for Ideas dedicated to the memory of Giulia Tramontano, a former student of the University, who was brutally murdered by her partner in May 2023.
This volume collects all the proposals received in the different categories of the creative section of the Call in the order presented at the public event on 21 March 2025: photography, short story, poetry, digital poetry, fashion, painting, music, podcast.
The initiative was not intended to select and reward the most original or most beautiful proposal, but rather to encourage broad participation and, above all, the sharing creative messages and expressions against gender-based violence.
Nothing can rival the inalienable power of an authentic word that comes from one’s own experience and meets the attention of the others.
