Abstract: The text collects the projects developed during the workshop "Superisola. A collective village for ten families",
a.y. 2023/2024, University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli. The students, guided by Cesare Cattaneo's theories
for the family home project for the Christian family and by the modern practices of the superillas, propose new
housing models of collaborative communities, where private and public space merge to improve the quality of
urban life.

Author Biographies

Efisio Pitzalis, University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli"

Efisio Pitzalis is full professor at the Department of Architecture of the Luigi Vanvitelli University. His research activity is internal to the modernist currents of which he interprets the genealogical line of classical sources. The design experimentation is concentrated in the area of urban and landscape architecture, with implications for the study of complex multifunctional buildings, squares, parks and schools. His research work is published in architectural magazines and catalogues, and is exhibited in solo and collective exhibitions.

Barbara Bonanno, University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli"

Barbara Bonanno, (Naples, 1987), is an architect and a PhD in architectural and urban composition. His research is oriented to the influence the client has on the architectural project. In 2024 his doctoral thesis, entitled Il ruolo della committenza nel progetto di architettura, la progettazione tentativa, De Carlo e l’attualizzazione del metodo was selected by ProArch among those most representative of the way of carryng on research in the last five years; and served as an external consultant for SHArch research, Second Hand Architecture for confiscated property, with principal investigator Concetta Tavoletta.
